About Us
Sunistano Seed Co. is a family-owned and operated company specializing in rare, open-pollinated, heirloom, indigenous, and culturally important food and forest crops grown organically in the Grand River (Owashtanong) Watershed of Michigan's Lower Peninsula.
What began as a tiny act of truth and reconciliation -- a flint corn rematriation project with our Anishinaabeg neighbors -- has since grown into a full-fledged social enterprise that encourages and equips tribal nations, farmers, gardeners and homesteaders, and reforestation and environmental restoration projects, nationwide.
Sunistano Seed Co. is a centuries old taste of midwestern hospitality and a new chapter in a broader story in which you now play a vital role. Thank you for your stewardship and support!
We hope you enjoy your visit.
